Mental Health

Hilary Nelson is a a board‑certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC) with a background in both psychology and nursing, and a sincere curiosity about people and their stories. Her journey into mental health care began in social work and nursing, where she witnessed the profound impact of compassionate, thoughtful care.

With over a decade of experience in healthcare, she strives to be grounded, approachable, and deeply empathetic. She is passionate about reducing stigma, improving access to mental health care, and creating a safe, non‑judgmental space where people feel truly heard.

Outside of work, she is a creative at heart, an avid animal lover, and a mom to two young daughters—roles that continually remind her of the importance of patience, curiosity, and meeting people where they are.

She earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign, her B.S.N. from Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and her M.S.N. from Bradley University, with clinical training across the lifespan.
